A major installation by the Glasgow artist was sited in the car park at Lust & The Apple incorporating large helium balloons each floating in the air beneath each of which hang a sword. Referencing the original story of the “sword of Damocles” where the king’s throne is offered to the court member, Damocles under the caveat that a sword will hang above him suspended only by a horse’s hair! A somewhat worrying entrance to the art gallery.
Other new sculptural and graphic works by Sandys were exhibited in and around the building. Those works can be seen in the For Sale section of this website.
