Jimenez is a very established artist in Mexico where his work is in many major collections and museums – this was his first show in the UK. Working in ceramics and paint, his work often takes modern pop tropes and applies them to objects – from Boomboxes, anatomical machine diagrams of genitalia to tourist tat which he has overpainted to create something much more sinister.
A mixture of vintage and newer work consisting of banners, pots and paintings were displayed in Lust and the Apple in a colourful mix that verged on installation.
